Argo (2013) – Ben Affleck (Oscar winner for the film “City” and “Good Will Hunting”) directs and plays one of the lead roles in the film. Affleck Argo sign and production of the film, along with Grant Heslov (Oscar nominee for “Good Night and Good Luck”) and George Clooney (Oscar winner for “Syriana”). Argo brings his starring Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), Alan Arkin (Oscar winner for “Little Miss Sunshine”) and John Goodman (“Trouble with the Curve”). The cast also includes Victor Garber, Tate Donovan, Clea Duvall, Scoot McNairy, Rory Cochrane, Christopher Denham, Kerry Bish, Kyle Chandler and Chris Messina. In 1979 the U.S. embassy in Iran was invaded by rebels Iranians and some U.S. citizens are taken hostage. However, six of them managed to escape and go to the residence of the Canadian Ambassador and CIA help to leave the country. With few options available, expert in such “returns” Tony Mendez conceives a bold plan, namely the claim that they want to shoot a film in Iran and to take over American citizens as part of the shooting team. With some acquaintances of Hollywood, Mendez goes in Iran as their partner. However, time is running out, and Iranian security forces are on track to realize the truth when White House and those who must to save are beginning to not hope in successful operation.
